President Putin re-elected as president with massive lead.

With half of the ballots counted, Putin was in the lead with 87.3% of the vote, according to preliminary results reported Sunday by Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC).

The result means Putin will rule until at least 2030, when he will be 77. Russia’s longest-serving leader since Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, he will secure a third full decade of rule.

War time presidents usually get reelected in nearly all countries. The people rally around the guy leading the war effort, the same is true here at home, George Bush Jr got reelected when we were at war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It stands to reason he got a landslide victory he is taking his country to a major win in Ukraine. Even polls not just Russian ones show his people support him with up to 80% popularity.

The funniest comment I have read is Zelensky who cancelled elections in Ukraine saying this was not a free election. That is rich coming from a comedian turned dictator.

Anybody who believes that was a free and fair election must be blind. All the major opponents are either dead or in prison ???? Even the 3 "Kremlin Approved" challengers didn't do ANY campaigning and point blank refused to criticize Putin in any way

There was a clip on the news the other day where one of the challengers was asked a simple question.... "Would you be a better president than Putin ?". And the guy refused to answer !!!!. This was a guy who was running to be President !

Aswell as silencing his crtics, Putin is using the oldest trick in the book. You convince your people that they are under threat from some foreign enemy and they will support you. They will even go to war for you. Hitler did it in the 30s with Poland and then Russia. The USA did it with Iraq and WMDs. And now Putin is doing it with Ukraine and the west. Saying we want to destroy Russia

We have seen how he acts what happens when they elect a new leader is unknown, what if a war hawk comes to power and things get really wild. Russia has a lot of nukes who gets to control the red button is important for world peace. Putin has not done anything wild even during this Ukraine war.

The former president and Pm Dmitry Medvedev is more out spoken. I think he'll be the next president if Putin does not run for another term in 2030.

They are trying to link this to Ukraine although its highly doubtful that Ukraine had anything to do with it

The US embassy in Moscow warned Russia two weeks ago that extremists were planning an attack at a "large social gathering" but Putin dismissed the warning

ISIS have already claimed responsability for this attack but Putin is continuing to try and link it to Ukraine

My bet is the Putin will use this as a false flag operation to launch even more destruction on Ukraine

It's too early to say who was behind it, let them investigate before reaching conclusions. One thing is certain whoever did it needs to be brought to justice and punished. There is no excuse for what happened it does not matter what city or country it happens in. This kind of mass shooting is barbaric and can not be condoned by anyone. Death of innocent civilians can never be justified.

I think its obvious Ukraine was NOT involved in this at all. They are not stupid, they know that if they did something like that and it got out then ALL their allies would condemn them and that would be the end of the war. Putin would win

The USA warned Russia two weeks ago that an attack by Isis was imminent and now Isis have claimed responsability. What more proof do you need ?????

Putin will do everything he can to blame this on Ukraine. This is just like how the war with Chechnya started. In Septermber 1999, over 350 people were killed in Moscow after several apartment blocks and a shopping mall were blown up. Putin blamed Chechen rebels and as a result, he invaded Chechnya. However, a few weeks later local police caught several "Chechen rebels" planting a massive bomb in another apartment block. It turned out they were FSB agents !!!!
