Only in UK series: You can not smoke and you will work until you are 75 years old

The news is getting crazy each passing day,so here is what i hope will be a series of wacky and crazy news from the UK.

I am going to call this "Only in UK series"

Here are 2 articles today where PM Rishi Sunak is proposing banning smoking very soon by raising the minimum age to smoke by one year every year.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-67010681

And Lord Frost suggesting the retirement age should be raised to 75.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... nding.html

How about we the people decide if we want to smoke and when to quit working.

Talking of Rishi he did not make too many friends with the LGBTQ community yesterday at the Conservative party conference saying

"A man is a man and a woman is a woman, that's just common sense." ..... "we shouldn't get bullied into believing that people can be any sex they want to be."

What the hell I finally get to agree with something he ever said.

I think everybody knows that Rishi Sunak has almost zero chance of winning the next election. He didn't even win his own party's leadership election, let alone a general election and yet here he is as prime minister ???

That's where I think the American system is better because they vote for the president and vice president on the same ticket.

They should never have got rid of Boris

When was the last time a PM was actually elected by the people, it appears a new trend has emerged where the party in government keeps replacing their leader and therefore a new prime minister gets into number 10.

Boris tried and thought in the end hell with this I can be the next NATO general secretary but that didn't work out for him, Jens Stoltenberg said I like this job I'll keep it for another year.

Boris Johnson just as Piers Morgan never go away more than a few minutes, they have the characteristics of hemorrhoids once you have them they will come back :)

All things considered I would rather have Johnson than Sunak.

Amen

I know very well the health risks associated with smoking, my cardiologist walked out with me to my car last time I saw him a few months back and he offered me a cigarette, I said try one of mine. We had a smoke and he said stop smoking I said sure doc :)

You know what it is an individual decision to smoke or not in my opinion. The younger generation under 50's are not smoking as much as my generation used to, so the trend is downwards which is good, but banning it I am against.

I found this on Google,an official stats form the UK government.

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulation ... 2018to2020

"Life expectancy at birth in the UK in 2018 to 2020 was 79.0 years for males and 82.9 years for females;"

why even contribute to a pension plan if it kicks in at 75,that sucks.
