Definitely. Its not so much the domain but the brand that counts
A lot of users will simply type the domain name into their browser without the extension because they are not sure if its .com, .net, .co.uk or whatever. That then defaults to a google search for that domain name which MASSIVELY boosts your SEO score. We've had 20 years of people typing the word tacamateurs into google
Infact, in most cases your biggest search term by far should your domain name. If it isn't, then thats a sign that users are NOT recognising your brand

If the domain has been dropped, parked, used for multiple types of sites over time it is not as valuable as one that has always been the same site, cough cough sponsorchat.com been the same site since October 2nd 2004. I own a 24 year old one adultinsider.com but used it on and off since buying it, not the same thing if you ask me. Just saying what I think not a professional opinion since my seo skills are limited to what I ask Adrian when I need help

Yep good point. It has to be a live domain that people have been using.TheButcher wrote: ↑July 25th, 2023, 3:24 pmIf the domain has been dropped, parked, used for multiple types of sites over time it is not as valuable as one that has always been the same site, cough cough sponsorchat.com been the same site since October 2nd 2004. Not mush value to an aged domain if it was flagged for being used for blackhat in the past.

My first choice is to register one and not pay a premium for an existing domain I am cheap.

A 20 year old domain is still worth more than some 20 day one to me

You keep a domain for 20 years it cost you $400 in annual fees, which is peanuts but it will be worth some cash in that time if it is any decent name.
