Good for Mindgeek minimize your potential criminal and civil liability, not surprising seeing the people running MG now.

Here we go again. Utah is going to run into the exact same problems that every other state/country has had when they try to police the internet
  • 1. Pornhub blocked itself (not so much to be compliant with the new law, but to make a statement). But are the Utah authorities expecting EVERY other pornsite from around the world to do the same ?? Either block themselves or integrate with Utah's age verification system ? Because I assure you most of them wont bother
  • 2. Utah authorities say they're going to make the tech companies liable if their content is available in Utah. But they only have jurastiction over companies physically based in Utah. What are they going to do about say some Russian webmaster who hasn't filtered out his Utah traffic yet (probably because he knows nothing about it) ?
  • 3. So far we have Louisiana with its own age verification system (called LA Wallet), and Utah with their digital drivers license. To be compliant with the new law, us webmasters have to integrate with each of these systems. Now image more states or countries follow suit, each with their own age verification system. We could end up with dozens (if not hundreds) of different systems that we are supposed to integrate with.
  • 4. Of course VPNs make this whole idea redundant
The ONLY way to control what kids have access to is via the parental controls on their device

You make a god point with every state and country making up laws on adult content it is getting to be a mine field to know what is allowed and what not.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.
