Every site should have a valid contact method

I am sick and tired of sites which have no contact link or email. ICANN requires you to make sure your contact information is verified annually or they can go a head and take the domain off line until it is updated, I fully support this rule. Websites should have a contact email, contact form, some damn means to reach whoever is responsible for the domain.

I wish some major jurisdiction such as the US or EU would pass such legislation, it beats having stupid cookie consent law when you need to get a hold of the darn site owner.

End of rant

Sites with a merchant account like us have to publish a physical address (no po boxes) aswell as email addresses. They used to also require a telephone number to be published although i think they have relaxed that law now

I can understand why a website owner who is not using billing might not want to put their mobile phone number and home address on the site, but an email address is not giving away personal information. admin, support, webmaster some thing at some domain name dot com is all they need to have.

Peace

One reason why people stopped doing this (and using forms instead) was because of email scrapers. Bots that would crawl the web gathering any email address they could find to use for spamming

Its less of an issue these days as spam filters are much more advanced so any site should at least have a contact email

You want surfers to give you feed back and especially if there is a copyright claim to be able to contact you.

One problem is all the crap you get from a contact form

So we have a Contact Form thats got Google Re-Captcha on it and STILL im getting 3 or 4 submissions a day that are spam. Usually people wanting a job or to sell us traffic etc

Its seems to be people paid to just submit spam wherever they find a contact form

Im seriously thinking of switching it for registered affiliates only and everybody else can just use email

Personally any means of contact is fine by me, and yes spam is way out of control especially this year.
