"Meta Platforms (META) is not doing well. The social-media giant, parent of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has been sending alarming signals for several months.

It was ejected from the world's top 10 most valuable companies, and this year its market capitalization has fallen by nearly $545 billion.

During the third quarter, which is about to end, the shares have fallen some 15%, which by itself translated into a drop of $57.5 billion in market value from July through September."

Im still not convinced with this "metaverse" thing that facebook are pushing. Its basically a virtual reality world they reckon we are all going to live in soon

There was some facebook exec on the news the other day saying that, within the next 2 years ALL major brands/shops will have a presence in the metaverse !!

Just sounds to me like when they tried to push 3D tv back in the 80s, then again in the 90s, and 00s. It would have worked if you didn't have to wear them stupid goggles

Well I never enjoyed watching a movie wearing those glasses they handed out at the movies. I went to two 3D movies and got tired of it.

I'm still trying to get used to cable modems, I miss my old 2400 baud dialup one. I put on a VR had set 3 years ago when my son insisted I try it, after 2 minutes I said no thanks. I don't see it catching on to be honest.

A buddy of mine got caught out with the VR Porn. Sitting there with his trousers down, VR goggles on and getting it on with Virtual Vera or whoever. Course he didn't hear his wife and mother-in-law come back from the shopping !!!

They were stood there watching him for bloody ages apparently lol
