"According to the redacted filing, the summons for jury duty was sent out to a Virginia resident in April for the much-delayed $15 million defamation action Depp had set off in March 2019 against Heard for a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she penned on being the “public face” of domestic abuse. However, also according to today’s filing, it seems that there are two individuals residing at the same address with, at the very least, “the same last name” — one a 77-year-old and another a 52-year-old.

The former was the one summoned, but it looks like the latter was the one who showed up. “Thus, the 52-year-old [redacted] sitting on the jury for six weeks was never summoned for jury duty on April 11 and did not ‘appear in the list,’ as required,” Friday’s damning filing asserts."

Well I be.....assuming everything is as the article states then I can see how she may have a point about a re-trial. When everything was said and done with this trial I felt sorry for her and quite liked her. One of the primary decisions to be made when you take another person to trial is the financial matter. You might be 100% in the right but the other party might have the means to ride out a trial financially. Ask any lawyer they will tell you it comes down to who can drag on a case and bring the other side to their knees just because of the costs.

Would the decision had been different if the other person summoned was on the jury, who knows. Does her legal team believe a verdict other than the one reached by this jury will prevail, that is the question. If they do and she wants to go through all that stuff all over again and wants to spend the money, go for it Amber.

Honestly I think Depp should take the moral high ground and say to himself I won the case, I got the decision I wanted, hell with the money I may collect from Amber let's put this behind us. If her legal team believes they have any chance of winning a new case they should go for it or ask Depp's team to come to an agreement where he does not enforce the judgment and they bring this thing to an end.
