Having spilt dozens of drinks etc over my laptop i now use keyboard protectors. Only a few bucks from Amazon and they stop anything getting in or under your keys

My laptop was done in 2020 when I knocked over my cup of coffee on it, now I never place a cup of anything on the desk where my laptop is.

I find if you get one of these keyboard covers and tape it down round the edges then it effectively seals off the keyboard so nothing can get in. Been doing it for years (replacing every few months) and my keyboard is still like new

I take out my keys and clean underneath them on the keyboard.

It is easier to clean my mouse than the keyboard, but I do both from time to time with a Chlorox wipe
