I tell my clients never delete a URL, never change a URL, leave them alone.

Make a new page if you need a new URL. Change the URL content and NOT the URL.

Especially if the URL is ranked at all and has traffic.

Thanks Bill for the link.

And the coloring books!

I see Google's point on this one and seems fair enough to me

YES!
Relevant is, is it receiving traffic, ranked at all, helping other pages increase their rank, etc.

You can modify the content, but do your best to review search console and your analytics to see what traffic, where traffic and why traffic, so you do not lose the potential of traffic.

I see pages with no traffic spike occasionally and make sales or help with sales. Old pages from 2017 started receiving traffic for a client the other day/months ago ;)!

Why?

Google finally listed it well enough to get clicks, it performed well so Google upped the rank, thus more traffic.
All because we let the page sit for 5 years. I am talking about hundreds of people per day.. On an ecommerce site that could mean a lot of sales.
Plus pages that were linked FROM that page started to increase in traffic and rank.

Can SEO take a long time, hell yes! But only if you have patience.

hen I create a post or page I move on, no reason to delete it, it is already online let search bots pick it up and list it.

Not me I delete web pages I no longer need, I keep my sites relevant not leave dead promo pages up for Google's benefit.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.
