[BUSINESS] how many of you bother with seo
When I see topics I wonder if you peeps bother with seo, you keep asking for content, programs and miss the most important par of making sales. I spend more time on my SEO than looking for better converting programs.

Your #1 focus has to be seo, so if you can afford it pay someone to do it right. If you can not then learn it, I do a bit of both.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

Yep you cant ignore the SEO stuff these days.Your competition will be using every trick in the book to grab taffic from you
On page stuff (alt tags, title tags etc) is all good but if I had to pick one thing that makes the biggest difference to SEO it leaning htaccess mod_rewrite to make all your urls seo friendly. There's lots of guides eg https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/an- ... --net-6708
Thats probably the most powerful seo tool you can use. Just a few lines of code in your htaccess and you can totally change how google sees your site
@Butcher - i would imaging you could get a plugin for this forum to enable seo friendly urls ? Worth looking into as it really does make a HUGE difference

There is one for 3.2 the forum is running the latest version of phpBB 3.3.4, and when I did the upgrade form 3.2 to 3.3 all hell went wrong, so I removed that thing. If and when I see a good working extension for seo friendly urls announced I will add it.

Be careful who you pay for SEO. I was stung a few times in the past from so called SEO experts. Check how well their own site is doing before parting with any money
Here's another tool thats really helpful. https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/
Its free for up to 500 urls or ($150 a year for larger sites).
It showed me a LOT of what i was doing wrong

SEO is vital, if you want traffic from search engines, like Google or Bing.
Search console
screaming frog
Lighthouse
I use several other tools that help with site optimization.
First you must know that there is no such thing as an SEO expert!
To understand this statement you must first define expert.
Without content you can not do SEO.
Once you know what you want from SEO you need more content. This is why I am always looking for more content.
Once you have traffic then finding better converting programs is paramount to making a profit. You need to find the program that converts with the traffic you have NOT the traffic you want.
Why use your time to change your traffic to fit the program you use?
If 1000 people come to your site per day, do you want them to be the people you want and have a conversion rate of 3%
OR
do you want them to see a program that converts at 18%
Assuming the payout is the same!
Then you make 6 times as much on the same traffic.
Secondary question are you doing recurring sign ups, CPC, CPA, etc?
This also affects the conversion rate and the payout.
I have programs that pay me less than $2 per sale, but these sales have been paying me recurring for years. When they buy again, I get paid again, recurring.
Very important to comprehend your programs monetization options and do the math to know which ones have the most potential long term.
Do you want $50 once or $15 over 4 months or more depending on the average life of the programs membership?
Do you want a commission on ever sale, forever or a penny for the click today?
Learn who your traffic is, give them the content they want and advertise the programs that convert to them. Then do more SEO to attract more people that convert for this program.
I have been doing SEO since before it was an acronym! Still I am not an expert as there is no such thing as an SEO Expert.
Please tell me what you think the most important part of making sales is? I think it is the conversion rate followed by the deposits to my money accounts.
