[BUSINESS] I bought a domain
hello I bought a domain last night for $80 it has a few hundred posts when it was a blog. I am starting up my own blog, is there any way to not loose the traffic on the domain if people still find the past post urls and click on them.

You restore the old urls (and the content if you dare)

There's a big blackhat guy that some here might know, he does that and makes a lot by getting lucky sometimes.
(With more details, though, but I'll keep it a mystery) :p

Sometimes when someone restores a domain, though, the previous owner just moved domains, and restoring things can get awkward if it's duplicate lol,

If there are past links anywhere else, then you don't have to do anything on the expired domain to get that traffic, it's coming from other places. But, you could set things up like a 404 redirect that goes to the index or it's own page with content and links to the index or other things so that the surfers coming to your new site from those old links will have more to see than a blank 404.
Or maybe a little more depending on the links, where they are, what they linked to, how many there are, etc.

Hypothetically if you buy a domain and go to archive.org copy the images, can you get sued, the domain is yours the previous dude who had it is not going to need the top image for his blog.

Let me try unpack this and keep it short.
First of all any legal entity be it a person or corporation can sue another legal entity.Whether a judge will throw it out or take the case is another thing. Second just because you sue does not mean you are right or a judge will find it in your favour. Third good luck on the legal fees, most cases come down to is it worth the attorney fees and will I be able to collect if I win and get a judgment.
Now let's talk copyright, trade mark, intellectual property, and if it involves models how about 2257 and release forms.
Finally is it right to use someone else's work without their permission and consent, nope it is not right.
10 days ago tacnet here from TacAmateurs made 2 sponsorchat buttons to use on his site, I messaged him said is it okay if I add them to the list of banners on this site, he said yes. I doubt he was going to sue me or get upset but it is the right thing to do. I lend my tools to friends all the time, but I appreciate them asking before they take it from the garage.
How I se it.
