I have a guy that will look for you, $29.
He will tell you what your server really is etc.
Send me a link to your site, I will look.
Consider this a bump, if anyone else would just answer the question as I can not.

Ask for ROOT access and the rest is history no reason to pay someone to tell you.

Then you do not have a dedicated server. IMHO!
Also what are the server specifications?
Are you running wordpress on a virtual dedicated server with *GB of memory on a HD form 2010, with a connection speed of a river snail?
So many questions could be answered by someone with access to the server, that KNOWS what they are doing!
Obviously @razor, since vobilinks is asking for help, then maybe paying a specialists is a good idea.
Not sure where YOU come off correcting or countering ME!
@razor it seems to me that you are assuming that vobilinks would know what to do with root access!
Having Root access means NOTHING, it you do not know what to do with it.
You can lift the hood on your car, does that mean you are a mechanic?
Backseat driver!

no need to pay anybody anything
A dedicates server can have multiple IPs.
There is no strict limit on IPs per server.

You need your posting credentials revoked.
People come here for help and you Trolls...Troll!
No where does the Remote Address check tool you shared refer to dedicated servers. It does not!
At best this tool, checks for sites on an IP, NOT a server.
It also states "not guaranteed to be complete."
Not only did you send an unrelated tool you sent one that states it does not work 100%.
Great job!

You lash out at anybody who doesnt agree with you and when they react, you claim its bullying !!!gotonudecom wrote: ↑July 30th, 2021, 6:41 amHoly shit!tacnet wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 10:26 pmJust use https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web- ... eb-server/

I never said a server cant have multiple IPs (although its rare) but if this link https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web- ... eb-server/ shows multiple sites with the same IP as yours then you can assume that you are on a shared server
As it says "A reverse IP domain check takes a domain name or IP address pointing to a web server and searches for other sites known to be hosted on that same web server."
And I got that link from a post the butcher did relating to pornstar.com viewtopic.php?f=74&t=5638&hilit=pornstar.com&start=15
It might not be 100% accurate but its a useful tool to know about

I am just calling you out on your BS! Which if you go read you came at me first.
I don't care much for Internet Trolls sharing WRONG information or countering my correct information. Especially as easily as I continue to show you are WRONG!
Opinions can be wrong, feelings can be wrong, facts are facts.
You are not helping this thread or yobilinks by countering my offering of assistance.
Nor are you helping by providing tools that are not related to the subject.
I do not assume and then answer, You obviously do, as you stated above. "you can assume that you are on a shared server "
The question was how do you KNOW not how do you assume!
Testing the IP does not prove or disprove a dedicated server or not. It only proves a dedicated IP. Period.
Your help might be useful, but not to this thread. Who wants to use tools that are not accurate.. I don't.
Like taking a taxi that MIGHT get you to your destination!
I treat people like they treat me. Pay attention to what you type to me, if you can not handle my return affection.
I am here to help people (and vent sometimes.)
Mostly help.
How do you know it is a true dedicated server?
You need someone to log into the server that knows how to do this and look.
Obviously yobilinks does not know how to do this, so suggesting getting root access as a solution is idiotic at best.
Like telling a blind person how to get to the store. First you drive your car.
Yeah great advice!
So what if you have root access, what next, start another thread to figure that out.
Poor answers and I was pointing it out.
Then you provide tools that have no accuracy or even work to prove of disprove the question.
Poor answers and I was pointing it out.
Calling you out is not bullying. It is calling you out.
If you wanted to help you would have sent an article like this.
https://www.greengeeks.com/blog/verify- ... ed-server/
http://bookofzeus.com/articles/linux/ve ... dedicated/
https://serverfault.com/questions/33284 ... -dedicated
However, since there is not root access, that pretty much answer the question.
Furthermore, just because you have a dedicated server does not mean it will not slow down.
There are a plethora of reasons a server will slow down. A hard drive could be going out. Just the month before last on a brand new server the brand new SSD drive failed.
We thought the server seemed a bit sluggish, until it just stopped working.
That is another lesson for another day.
That is what you do to see if you have a dedicated server.
Get root access, give the access to someone that knows what to do to test the server.
If yobilinks knew how to do this, yobilinks would not have created this thread.

gotonudecom - i cant be bothered with your bullshit today
Megan - use the link I gave you or the ones HeidiHoe sent. If you find lots of sites with the same IP then chances are you are on a shared server. Dont worry if they dont give you root access (even though i never suggested this in the first place) as most managed hosts wont do that for security reasons.
If you still have problems, you could try connecting via SSH and running the unix TOP command to see what processes are running
Hope that helps

Worst part is when you have to doubt what you signed up and pay for. Doubt is the worst part in any relationship not just in love.

Cheating and lying in a relationship are the worst feeling. I have had my heart broken many a time.
