JMB Software Contact
Heya
Does anyone have any JMB Software Contact? Like, to the original creator ?
Asking as I took the trouble to update to php7 and wanted his permission to add a few features and/or somehow recoup at least a bit if anyone else is interested

I just posted in the other thread that Jeremy has been MIA for about 8 years, I guess you remember all that when it went down. Just not going to talk about it. I did buy a paid license for his scripts, not longer after he made them open source. That was nice of him to be honest.BrasSmonkey wrote: ↑March 10th, 2020, 5:38 pmgood luck! he doesn't want to be contacted. after his thing happened

Hmmm I guess if its open source it would be ok to modify it and put it back out...
But might of course get hunted down by a lot of old license holders angry that their licenses were made worthless (i bought plenty too at prices that seem laughable these days)
The upside is that it turned out possible to update the code to run on php7+ without any hickups so far

Wow i think i paid like 150 or something per license ... but doesnt matter, different times.TheButcher wrote: ↑March 10th, 2020, 6:12 pmH wasn't charging much, I only paid $25 a pop. Hey did you get Tubex to work?
So far I am testing TGPX and TraderX but as far I can see itll be possible to have all running in the next few days (didnt actually have any tubex running myself so wasnt a priority - though i had bought 1 license at one point)

FL I'm pretty sure I paid $25 about 10 years ago for the licenses, maybe my memory is letting me down, if you want to download TubeX it's here and legal to do so. https://github.com/jmbsoft/TubeX
I used to run a few tubes on that thing back in the day, wish I could get it to work again.
Peace

Yes, got it - i am busy upgrading it too to php7 - TraderX, TubeX, TGPX and LinklistX are all in the works.
So far trader and tgp are done - and will get the other 2 running soon too
Price doesnt actually really matter - nobody would pay many cents for outdated scripts these days ... so unless actually adding modern features etc id just put them out for free with a "If youre nice donate whatever you want" and thatd be it.
But id like to get them running so the old box i have with tgps and linklists can enter the modern world of php7 - and i need some extra features myself if theyre to be useful...so why not put them out to others

If you update Tubex to work tell me how much you want for it, I'll pay a fair price to have it working again.FilmLatex wrote: ↑March 10th, 2020, 6:25 pmYes, got it - i am busy upgrading it too to php7 - TraderX, TubeX, TGPX and LinklistX are all in the works.

Ok - TGPX is running now: https://www.adultlist.com/adult-webmasters/
I put it up with instructions for upgrades ... new installs should (i hope) be straightforward, upgrading an install takes a bit of fiddling. I cant find anymore errors, but there might well be some - so please dont break any cashcows
I plan to do TubeX and LinkX too, maybe ToplistX ... I do not charge - but contributions or any other nice thing such as a linkback is of course appreciated (i wont look at you funny if you dont, dont worry
