Site name and seo

Hey guys which is better for seo, a top image on your sites or a text link, I see SC uses a text link not an image for the site name.

Images take bandwidth, could that be the answer.

This is definitely a good way to get you up on that first page google shows, granted they take into account so many other things besides keywords, but text is for sure something you need to have on that top of your homepage, think about long and hard on how you want to describe your company and what problems you can solve for people, images are great as well, its always good to have them around, people dont read half as much as they scroll down and look at the pictures. I supposed its a combination of both elements that makes a great site homepage

I use a header/footer plugin that lets you add stuff to header, footer, between posts, or anywhere you damn well please. You can use php so conditional statements are possible as well.
