Question is how much for a subdomain for 3 years will you guarantee it will exist if you sell the domain

If I had a sub on nude I might use it as a feeder for my sites, use it to test different ideas, etc. I prefer to spend my efforts developing domains I own. Last I checked subs are treated as separate domains by SEs and placing a site at whatever.nude.com sort of eliminates the type-in benefit as well.

As far as promo on nude goes...
I would have to see what the overhauled site looks like, where the links are, etc. Cross-linking between subs (maybe a top navbar) might be nice.

A sub on someone else's domain would never be a priority for me no matter what the domain name is.

What would I do with nude.com? I lack the resources (and perhaps the ambition) to take it to the heights possible so I would try to sell it for top dollar, invest the money and kick back. I would try selling it ASAP, type-ins aren't what they used to be with all the TLDs cropping up nowadays. dot com is still gold but for how much longer will this hold true?

Very good question. I do not have a legal answer.

My plan is to make sure that all sub domains are Yours as longs a you pay the yearly requirement. (might not be $ might be x number of posts created per year.)

Long term is to setup up NUDE.com as a registrar. Then apply for ICANN membership.
Then allow the top domain registrars to sell them for me.

I am about to list NUDE.com on Brandbucket

This will be my last attempt to sell the domain this year through a Third party.
All further attempts to sell NUDE.com will include a clause that requires the buyer to honor all the subdomain contracts. (I am waiting on that contract draft to approve.)
Pretty much a copy of what ICANN already says "You pay what I say every year and you can use the domain/subdomain."

I am considering giving away subdomains at this point, to members of sponsorchat only.

I agree with the developing your own domain. That is why I am brainstorming as many ideas that will help bring value to the subdomains of NUDE.com.
Long term plan to become a registrar for .NUDE.com gTld.
If you know that you owned the domain for a small fee every year or that the site performance could pay the fee for you, then that would (hopefully) increase the value and interest for YOU.
As for the SEs, they can go jump somewhere.
As for the typeins. I have thousands of subdomain type ins. I really need to get this off the ground, just to deal with making the high impression and high traffic subdomains into real sites.
Types ins for most domains and for NUDE.com should not be compared. yes typeins are decreasing as mobile devices grow and more people use a SE to get to a domain name.

I am thinking of something like youtube front page for the subdomains section on the nude.com front page.
Allowing you the subdomain owner to also come and use the directory service to post your listing in your categories.
Anyone doing a live show will have priority while they are live.
new content as posted on your subdomain can be also linked to on nude.com front page, side bars and as recently added content section.
also considering using a click exchange script. you send me traffic, I send you traffic.

subdomains that are voted to be of really high quality will be allowed to advertise on the site free or for a discounted price. for example the banners on videos on xxx.nude.com could be your banner and later your video could play before the crap videos I have playing. lol

I agree on selling. NUDE.com will be listed on Brandbucket soon. If they don't sell it, then I am most likely pulling out of my retirement and developing the site.

This year 996 sub domains have been market as referral in analytcs. I search for .nude.com on the Acquisition>referral page.
Just a bit of history, n 1997-200something this number would have been a partial day.

At one time I was receiving over 20k in subdomain type ins per, day. The type ins for NUDE.com were also in the hundreds of thousands per day at that time.

Thanks to browser changes and SEs this has all changed.

I think that with all the gTlds the day of type ins is coming back. All be it slowly.
