I have de quervain's tenosynovitis

Post by josline » September 26th, 2026, 6:08 pm

It's been months I have this excruciating pain in my right thumb and wrist area, I thought it might be carpal tunnel syndrome from using the mouse so many hours a day for so long,I visited a clinic they said to get corticosteroid injection and a thumb splint, if that doesn't help after a few times to get surgery. Has anyone here been though this and got any shots or the surgery?

Why do they give complicated sounding names for disease & medical conditions, why not make it simple.

Josline did you get the cortisone injection and if so has it helped relive the pain?

My sister has Carpal Tunnel and she gets shots all the time, nothing lasts long 2-3 months at best. Hoping you get it sorted out soon.

The splint is inconvenient I take it off,the injection was extremely painful , it's been 5 days the pain is well and truly diminished

Glad to hear the cortisone shots have relieved some of the pain, I hope it stays that way for a long time.
