They must have a plan it's not a move you make without thinking long and hard about it especially when you are a prince.

Royalty in the 21st century makes no sense, let people elect their leaders by vote not by heredity

But they are NOT leaders (at least in Britain). The British Royal Family have no say whatsoever in how the country is run. In fact, they are not even allowed to vote and even expressing a political opinion is frowned upon. But they do have tremendous political clout. You show me one world leader that didn't go weak at the knees at the thought of a state visit with the Queen (or now the King)greatpornlinks wrote: ↑August 28th, 2026, 8:38 amRoyalty in the 21st century makes no sense, let people elect their leaders by vote not by heredity
Even Trump was like a giddy school boy when he was invited back for a 2nd state visit with King Charles.

What's the point of a King or queen if they are just for show and not doing anything?

Perfectly valid question that us Brits always get asked. One thing I will say is that, despite what people think, they do bring in a lot more money than they cost us. They are our biggest tourist attraction. Think Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Tower of London, Windsor Castle etc etc. Let's face it, we've got bugger all else to attract tourists to Britainviking wrote: ↑August 30th, 2026, 2:48 pmtacnet wrote: ↑August 29th, 2026, 8:01 pmBut they are NOT leaders (at least in Britain). I have to say, I always feel a bit sorry for the Royals. That might sound like an odd thing to say but if you think about it, everybody else who lives a public life (eg. Politicians, Singers, Sports stars etc) all CHOSE to do that. The Royal family had NO CHOICE. They were simply born and we told them they were special, they were going to live in a palace, every aspect of their lives was fair game for the news media and there was NOTHING they could do to get out of it.
Just my opinion

Will they get their royal titles back and become active royals any time soon?
