We're okay with Saudi Arabia enriching uranium and a possible path to a nuke
Isn't this what we said we will never allow another middle east country , Iran to ever do and why we went to war with them and even Israel is against it happening.?
" The Trump administration has tentatively agreed to allow Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium without enacting international safeguards intended to prevent nuclear weapons development, according to sources familiar with the matter and documents reviewed by CNN.
The draft nuclear accord that outlines US support for Riyadh’s civilian nuclear program is awaiting President Donald Trump’s signature despite US-Saudi negotiations concluding in October 2025.
Two sources familiar with the matter indicated that the ongoing war with Iran — which according to Trump was launched in part to prevent Tehran from using its enriched uranium to build nuclear weapons — has played a role in delaying Trump’s signature. Some on Capitol Hill also believe the Trump administration is delaying sign-off because it could face a bipartisan disapproval resolution blocking the deals from going into effect, said one of the sources.
Experts told CNN the deal could potentially provide Saudi Arabia with a path to nuclear weapons unless stringent safeguards are put in place. The country’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, has previously threatened to build his own nuclear weapons should Iran, his country’s principal regional rival, acquire the bomb."

We are at war with Iran over their nuclear program and going to help Saudi Arabia build one, this is hard to comprehend for me.

"Saudi Arabia would need to normalize relations with Israel to receive the U.S. nuclear technology it has long sought, President Donald Trump said Thursday, adding a new condition to an agreement signed a day earlier and throwing the future of that deal into confusion.
The nuclear deal is "totally subject" to Saudi Arabia's joining the Abraham Accords, Trump said in a social media post, referring to the effort from his first term to normalize relations between Israel and Muslim-majority countries from which it had long been estranged. The Saudis have thus far refused to join the accord."

This condition might actually lead to peace in the middle east.

Carrot and the stick approach let's see if Saudi Arabia goes for it.Wm2man wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2026, 12:02 pm"Saudi Arabia would need to normalize relations with Israel to receive the U.S. nuclear technology it has long sought, President Donald Trump said Thursday, adding a new condition to an agreement signed a day earlier and throwing the future of that deal into confusion.

Nobody in the region is going to normalize relations with Israel right now. Not after what they have seen in Gaza and the ongoing strikes into Lebanon. On top of that, it would draw them deeper into this war and make them more of a target for IranLuKenGas wrote: ↑July 24th, 2026, 7:11 amCarrot and the stick approach let's see if Saudi Arabia goes for it.Wm2man wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2026, 12:02 pm"Saudi Arabia would need to normalize relations with Israel to receive the U.S. nuclear technology it has long sought, President Donald Trump said Thursday, adding a new condition to an agreement signed a day earlier and throwing the future of that deal into confusion.

I agree with that and want to just say most of those middle east countries are dictators who can not risk alienating their people and getting overthrown in some public uprising. I for one can not imagine any leader of an Arab country cozying up to Israel after the genocides committed in Gaza and in truth Lebanon.tacnet wrote: ↑July 24th, 2026, 2:29 pmNobody in the region is going to normalize relations with Israel right now. Obviously Trump and his administration
Let's see from my limited understanding of the middle east Iran and Saudi Arabia are arch enemies, one is predominantly Shite the other Sunni.
They are both rivals to be the big boys in their respected neighbourhoods, so either one getting nuclear weapons is a threat to the other not to mention Israel the only nuclear power in the middle east which does not admit to having them or allowing the IAEA to monitor their sites, not to forget they are not party to the NPT treaty.
