[RANT] I was so humiliated last night on a date

I got asked on a dinner date by a guy I met on Friday night at a club. He seemed very nice and I should have picked up on his cheap ass ways when he never offered to buy a drink at the club. So last night I went met him at this bar and grill in West LA, very nice place I have been there before. Food was good as usual, he asked if I wanted wine, I said sure a Cabernet Sauvignon with steak is what i like to drink. We talked it wasn't the greatest time I have had on a first date but it was okay, but it was okay he was polite and attentive. The bill comes and he tells the waiter to split it and split the bottle of red wine. WTF you cheap ass big shot talking about his cars and house on the beach....... what guy splits the bill on a first date and has the balls to want the date to pay for half the wine, I had a glass he had the rest of that fucking $74 bottle of wine.

One date I took to dinner in 2022 asked me if I want to take the half bottle of wine home or if she could take it rofl. I bought dinner and she took the remains of her dinner and wine home, I knew this check was not for me and never called her again.

I'm old fashioned and will always pay but I do like the lady to offer to buy at least one round of drinks. I will usually say no and pay myself but it's nice to know that she offered.

Amen when I was dating I appreciated the offer to buy and not to offend the date I would once in a while let her, but never expected or let her pay for the meals.

When you take your own wine to a restaurant I can see you tasking the rest back but I have not ever taken home a half empty bottle of wine served at the restaurant, that seems a little uncomfortable to me.

That is never kosher on a first date and to ask the cost of the wine to be split is a second big fuck up. First date you pay not let her pay even if she insists.
