This 4th of July long weekend is not going to end well for the Covis-19 spread. This was just on cnn.com
" (CNN)Local officials are sounding the alarm over an increase in Covid-19 infections just as the nation prepares to celebrate a Fourth of July holiday that many hoped would mark the start of the resumption of normal life.
In Arkansas, which has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the nation, cases are surging, officials said. In Los Angeles County, where the vaccination rate is slightly above the national average, officials warned about a possible new wave of infections, especially given the rapid spread of the Delta variant.
"We are now going in the wrong direction yet again with Covid-19 infections here in the state of Arkansas," said Dr. Cam Patterson, chancellor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, during the state's weekly briefing Tuesday.
"With July 4th holiday coming up and eventually kids going back to school, we have to be concerned that this would be a trend that could continue. And if it does, it would appear that we may be in the beginning of the third surge of Covid-19 here in the state of Arkansas," he said.
More than 90% of active virus cases are people who have not been vaccinated, Gov. Asa Hutchinson said during the briefing."

Here is the problem that i see, how things can go form getting good to bad again. With people taking the vaccine the cases have gone down, but there is some hesitancy with some to go get their second dose. The new variants out there especially the Delta one can very easily lead to another wave. Go get the 2nd dose people.

We might have a vaccine passport in the fall in Quebec.
"MONTREAL -- The Legault government plans to use proof of vaccination to limit people's access to non-essential services if the COVID-19 situation worsens in the fall.
Quebec’s Minister of Health and Social Services Christian Dubé made it clear that the roll-out of the vaccine passport will not happen until all eligible Quebecers will have had a chance to receive two doses of the vaccine, which is estimated to happen around Sept. 1.
Health minister says 95 per cent of Quebecers who got COVID-19 last week were not 'adequately' vaccinated
No cause for concern about vaccines' efficacy against Delta variant, experts say
At a news conference Thursday afternoon in Montreal, the minister said rather than locking down sectors of the economy, the vaccine passport will be used limit access to places like bars, gyms contact sports and other activities deemed "high risk."
While he said it is people's right to choose not to get the vaccine, he said those who choose not to get immunized might be required to self-isolate, get tested, or "not have access" to some activities.
"The vaccination passport is going to be used if,and only if, transmission or outbreaks justify us doing so in a certain sector of activity, or a given territory," the health minister said. "

I fully support this idea, people need to get fully vaccinated it stops the spread of the Covid-19 and the proof is in the numbers. I'd go a step further make it mandatory to have a vaccine passport to enter any public premises or public transport plus masks.

A 3d shot sounds logical and also means more dollars in the coffers of the pharmaceutical companies....
"Pfizer is about to seek U.S. authorization for a third dose of its COVID-19 vaccine, saying Thursday that another shot within 12 months could dramatically boost immunity and maybe help ward off the latest worrisome coronavirus mutant.
Research from multiple countries shows the Pfizer shot and other widely used COVID-19 vaccines offer strong protection against the highly contagious delta variant, which is spreading rapidly around the world and now accounts for most new U.S. infections.
Two doses of most vaccines are critical to develop high levels of virus-fighting antibodies against all versions of the coronavirus, not just the delta variant — and most of the world still is desperate to get those initial protective doses as the pandemic continues to rage.
But antibodies naturally wane over time, so studies also are underway to tell if and when boosters might be needed. "

Cases are increasing again and guess what it's unvaccinated people.
"(CNN)Just as health experts predicted, the combination of unvaccinated people and the more contagious Delta strain of coronavirus has led to new Covid-19 surges.
In 46 states, the rates of new cases this past week are at least 10% higher than the rates of new cases the previous week, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
In 31 states, new cases this past week are at least 50% higher than new cases the previous week.
The vast majority of new Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths have one thing in common: They're among unvaccinated people, doctors say.
More than 99% of all Covid-19 deaths in June were among unvaccinated people, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And younger people are getting hospitalized with Covid-19.
Missouri has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country and one of the worst outbreaks of the Delta variant. The situation is so bad in Missouri that the United States deployed a surge team to help stop the spread -- including members from the CDC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. "

Masks are back as of midnight this Saturday night in LA County
https://ktla.com/news/local-news/l-a-co ... -saturday/
"Los Angeles County is reimplementing its mask mandate indoors — regardless of vaccination status— amid an increase in coronavirus case numbers and concerns over the delta variant, officials announced Thursday.
The new masking order goes into effect 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.
“We’re not where we need to be for the millions at risk of infection here in Los Angeles County, and waiting to do something will be too late, given what we’re seeing,” L.A. County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis said.
The county recorded 1,537 new coronavirus cases Thursday, a 83% increase over the last week, according to Davis.
“We expect to keep this order in place until we begin to see improvements,” Davis said.
“Masking indoors must again become a normal practice by all, regardless of vaccination status, so they can stop the trends and level of transmission we’re currently seeing,” he said."
