Too bad American's military industrial cock suckers make so much money from war, or we could end all wars.
Feel threatened. I see it as Russia doing the threatening as is China, and also most likely America military industrial cock suckers.
Instead of doing business (the Trump way) do war. Seems to be the popular motto for the past .. forever.
What happens if we tell Ukraine get together with the Russians and hammer out a peace deal or we stop all military aid and cash to you. As long as we keep funding and supplying the ammo the Ukraine side will fight not try end it.
What is your take in this idea?

I am 100% certain they did and took note, I am also relived and glad Ukraine did not pull nay stunts and try hit Moscow yesterday, with all the pomp and ceremony and foreign heads of state present it would have been suicide for Ukraine. The innocent Ukrainian people deserve a break and end to this SMO.blingman wrote: ↑May 9th, 2025, 10:40 amIf I were Ukraine I would watch the Moscow military parade to mark the 80th year end of WW2

There are TWO things that need to happen to end this war. The first step is a ceasefire and the second step is a peace deal.
Ukraine (backed by Europe and even Trump) have offered an immediate and unconditional 30 day ceasefire so that they can then sit down and start working on a peace deal. But Putin is trying to twist things round, he wants to agree the terms of a peace deal BEFORE agreeing a ceasefire. Just yesterday he said that Russia wanted a cease fire but there were still "nuances" to work out. What nuances ?? Just stop firing for 30 days and they can work out the nuances.
Putin is the one who is keeping the war going and he is the one that Trump needs to put pressure on to end it

Not sure why you stated that a ceasefire needs to come before a peace deal. Curious to know if you realize that this is the type of issue that keeps peace from happening.
The aggressor is the one in control in any conflict.
A person can keep hitting you until you decide to submit, period.
Sure in theory, not hitting the other person might give them the opportunity to negotiate a deal. Also in real life, when you want someone to stop hitting you, maybe you just need to work out the peace deal. NOT tell them to stop hitting you first. Especially when they are hitting you to force you to submit to a peace deal.
Putin has all the power here, at least in HIS mind.
He did the peace deal so they could have a parade.
Something to think about. How many ceasefires are actually adhered to? How often does one side take the opportunity to violate the cease fire with a "sneak" attack.
Historically speaking, I would wager that more often than NOT cease fires are NOT adhered to.
Lastly, Why stop hitting your adversary and allow them to regroup? Keep the pressure on until you get what you want. This is the way of war.

I agree with both gotonudecom and yobi.
The Russians are not going to fall for another cease fire or temporary freeze of this conflict, remember Minsk 1 and 2, they went along with it and years later the French president and German Chancellor came out said we were stringing the Russians along to arm and fund the Ukrainian military to attack the Dombas and Russia.
Russia is hands down in the dominant position, they have made so many overtures to Ukraine to stop this war even before it started, they got turned down or burned. They had a draft proposal signed by both side in Istanbul turkey back in 2022 just a couple of months after the thing broke out, then British prime minister Boris Johnson flew to Ukraine said you can not make peace, keep on fighting. Had Ukraine taken the Minsk 1 or 2 deal they would not have lost any territory and only given semi-autonomy to the Dombas people for that region. Had they accepted their own signed peace agreement in 2022 they would not have lost any territory accept the Dombas, now that Russians have held a referendum and one to join Russia, the other 2 oblasts namely Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia are never going back to Ukraine.
if I was Zelensky I would make any deal to stop the death and destruction of his country and not lose more territory to Russia. If he doesn't then I have said all along Russia will go up to the Dnipro river and take Odessa. The Russians do not want to go west of the Dnipro because that part of Ukraine is not mostly ethnic Russian.
For all who say Russia wants to conquer territory they have no idea what they are talking about, Russia is the biggest country in the world, they are only in this SMO for the protection of their ethnic Russian population in Ukraine and to prevent Ukraine entering NATO. Why does Russia want to take over territory where the people are against them, that is not how they see it.
Imagine if Russia came to Mexico or Canada put military bases and nukes, you think the USA would let that even happen, read up on the Monroe Doctrine, it's pretty clear, no foreign country can have bases or military influence in the Americas period.
My advice to Zelensky is take your loses like a man, make a peace deal today before you lose more territory, because you will, it is so simple to see.
My only problem here and with all conflicts is innocent people die for the lack of wisdom and courage of leaders to make a deal and end up going to war. How many kids of politicians and rich people end up dying on the battle field in any war, very few if any. The poor and regular people get thrown into the front lines to die.

I don't know who Zelensky thinks he is kidding, here is how it works, diplomats get together hash out a deal, then the presidents get together sign it once all the I's are dotted and the T's crossed.
Zelensky is in no position to tell Putin what to do, and on top of that he is now the un-elected president of Ukraine since he passed and extended martial law, add to that he passed a law once the war started that no one on the Ukrainian side can negotiate or come to terms with Russia as long as Putin is president. So how is he expecting Putin to go to Istanbul when nothing has been agreed to and meet him. Zelensky is going to have to come to terms with reality and the facts on the ground. basically listen to what Putin says are the capitulation terms and then figure out who on the Ukrainian side can legally sign a binding agreement, because he is not going to be acceptable to the Russians unless he holds and election and is voted back in to office.
"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin "personally" in Istanbul on Thursday for talks over ending the war.
His post came shortly after Donald Trump demanded Ukraine agree to Putin's offer of direct talks between the two countries in Turkey.
"There is no point in prolonging the killings. And I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday. Personally," Zelensky wrote.
He had earlier said his country was open to talks with Russia but only after a ceasefire was in place.
"Western powers called for a 30-day pause in fighting to begin on Monday after European leaders spearheading the so-called "coalition of the willing" met in Kyiv on Saturday.
Putin's offer of direct talks followed that intervention.
On Sunday Trump then posted on social media that Ukraine should agree to this "immediately" and it would provide clarity on whether there was a way to end the war.
"At least they will be able to determine whether or not a deal is possible, and if it is not, European leaders, and the US, will know where everything stands, and can proceed accordingly" he said, adding: "Have the meeting, now!"
In his post on X, Zelensky said he hoped Russia would agree to the ceasefire before the talks.
"We await a full and lasting ceasefire, starting from tomorrow, to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy," he said.
In a late-night address on Saturday, Putin invited Ukraine to take part in "serious negotiations" over the war, which began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Putin said he could "not rule out" the possibility that the talks could result in Russia and Ukraine agreeing "a new truce" - but did not address the calls for a 30-day ceasefire directly.
The Russian leader said: "This would be the first step towards a long-term, lasting peace, rather than a prologue to more armed hostilities after the Ukrainian armed forces get new armaments and personnel, after feverish trench-digging and the establishment of new command posts."

What you are saying, correct me where I am wrong.
Zelensky might be prolonging the war to stay in power.
Zelensky is demanding things he has no power to demand.
Zelensky has passed a law that will not allow for an agreement with Putin, PERIOD.
It seems Zelensky is stalling to recover and then fight more.
sound about right?

100% what I am saying, The day the war is over his days are numbered, either his military or the extreme right elements (I won't write out the "neo-N" words) will kill him. I hope not because I do not condone murder but he is being used as a puppet by the backers of this war and people in his country who follow a very bad "Neo-N" ideology. You can figure out what the "N" stand for I am sure.gotonudecom wrote: ↑May 11th, 2025, 3:31 pmWhat you are saying, correct me where I am wrong.

Zelensky said he would not negotiate with Putin after the massacre at Bucha. After the Russians withdrew, they found hundreds of civilian bodies strewn about the streets and in mass graves. Many of them with their hands tied. It was a massive war crime, after which Ukraine and the western allies said they would not negotiate with a war criminal. https://www.hrw.org/news/2022/04/21/ukr ... eath-bucha
It was Russia who broke the Minsk agreements after just a few months. That's why Europe doesn't trust Russia to stand by any peace agreements they make now unless there are security guarantees put in place
Of course Ukraine has suspended elections. How can you hold elections when your country is being bombed ??? Britain did exactly the same thing during WW2. And no Zelensky is NOT trying to cling onto power. Unlike Putin he has stated many times that has no desire to remain in power for longer than his term. That's despite the fact that his approval ratings are nearly 60% !
Zelensky tried to stop this war before it started. As soon as he was elected he met face to face with Putin in Paris and asked him how they could stop the fighting in the east. Putin claimed it was nothing to do with Russia and that they were not involved. He lied !
There was never any question of Ukraine joining NATO until Putin invaded. That's not what this war is about. Its about Putin trying to reclaim the former territories of the Soviet Union. He said as much in his 2021 essay
Despite all the right wing propaganda, most Americans still support Ukraine and disagree with Trump's stance on handing everything to Putin on a plate

When I see some comments like above I get a feeling that russian propaganda is not so silly as I think
And I expect from russians to believe this shit, because they are raised in this environment
But from real life Americans
Like c'mon you can check the shit
It's Donbas not Dombas
Before russia occupied it they hold Euro 2012 with concerts of Rhiana and Beyonce
Now it's totally destroyed
There is no Neo-nazi in Ukraine (maybe extremely small minority group, not bigger than in russia and USA/Europe)
This is low grade russian propaganda
I can't believe that someone with access to Internet could believe it
There is no point to address these. They just create more and more nonsense.
Ukraine gained independency in 1991 within its internationally recognized borders. Most countries accepted it, including russia.
Now their army beyond these borders. End of story.
If you let it slide they will do this with other countries. Or you can stop them here. russia is weaker than ever.

XXXtrailers wrote: ↑May 12th, 2025, 7:29 amWhen I see some comments like above I get a feeling that russian propaganda is not so silly as I think

I don't have a dog in this race, all I care about is innocent lives lost in any war. I actually know 3 Russians online and about 30 Ukrainians. I am not taking sides, I know if you are Russian or Ukrainian it has to be personal but as neither I see the facts from an unprejudiced angle, an outsider.
By the way I type very fast using two index fingers hit post and then realize the typos. I know it is Donbas not Dombas that is my typing .
