Breaking news I saw on yahoo;
"WASHINGTON (AP) — A meeting between U.S. and Chinese officials went well and a deal was reached regarding “a ‘certain’ company that young people in our Country very much wanted to save,” President Donald Trump posted on his social media site on Monday.
Trump’s comment suggests that the company is TikTok, the social media company associated with China that U.S. law requires to be sold or else cease operations.
The Republican president has repeatedly extended the deadline on TikTok’s fate and was noncommittal on an agreement when asked by reporters on Sunday evening. Trump also said that he would be speaking on Friday with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The Chinese government has yet to confirm Trump's statements."

More news about who might buy TikTok here in the US
" A proposal to save TikTok from going dark in the United States would involve investments from a number of US-based venture capital firms, private equity funds and tech companies. Together, the investors would create a new US-based company that will operate the app domestically, sources familiar with the framework told CNN.
The framework of the agreement, which was hammered out by US and Chinese negotiators in Madrid this week, largely mirrors the deal presented to the President Donald Trump in April, before the president announced steep tariffs on China that scrambled talks with Beijing over the popular social media app.
Among the investors, which are expected to own a roughly 80% stake in TikTok, with Chinese shareholders holding the rest, are Oracle, Andreessen Horowitz and Silver Lake, the sources said. The new consortium would also be operated by a majority-US board, including a member appointed by the Trump administration."

Both presidents Biden and Trump were for TikTok being sold so it's cross party lines.

Last time I checked that is not how the US works, there are supposed to be 3 separate branches of government with checks and balances.LuKenGas wrote: ↑October 1st, 2025, 3:16 amLet’s send Congress home we’ll save money and let Trump pass laws by Executive OrdersTheButcher wrote: ↑September 25th, 2025, 5:26 pmTrump signed an Executive Order an hour ago to go forward with the sale

My take on this is Trump got his buddies to become co-owners of a great company.
