File a law suit, for smaller amount in small claims court. Keep in mind you have to pay the filling fees, serve the defendant, hope you win the case and then collect the award if any. Depending on where the defendant is and where you are it can get rather expensive. If the amount is larger than mall claims court, your attorney fees will cost you a nice penny, so you might keep that in mind.

Write it off to experience and forget about it unless we are talking in the thousands.
