I just saw this one my question is after renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America will he rename the Strait of Hormuz to the Strait of America?

Trump says he may declare Strait of Hormuz a US territory ‘after we finish defeating Iran’

President Donald Trump said Friday that he could soon declare the Strait of Hormuz “a territory of the United States” following the war against Iran. An Iranian official vowed afterward that the strategic waterway “cannot be seized.”"

I think this is just red meat for his MAGA base. If you think about it, if he declares the strait of Hormuz to be US territory, then he is going to have to keep a MASSIVE US naval force their permanently. And let's face it, he's already got half the US navy there and they still can't open it. Then there's all the other Gulf allies that he would have to protect with his multi-million dollar Patriot missiles.

As always, Trump doesn't think more than two moves ahead and a move like this would turn this conflict into a decades long war

What Im concerned about is these two wars joining up with USA and Ukraine on one side and Russia and Iran on the other.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Ukraine attacked several merchant vessels in the Caspian sea that were carrying weapons from Iran to Russia. It's not as if we didn't already know Iran was supporting Russia but this was the first time Ukraine had hit back at another country other than Russia. Iran has vowed to respond. On top of that, it's now well known that Russia is providing Iran with satellite imagery, signals intelligence, and targeting data to help it strike at the US and it's allies. That's been reported several times over the last few months but Trump doesn't want to admit it for obvious reasons

And then just last week, US intelligence reported that Russia is planning a limited attack on a NATO ally to test our response. Putin is bogged down in Ukraine and loosing thousands of soldiers for very little gain. He can't back down so his only option is to escalate and what better time to do it than with the USA bogged down in Iran and having used up most of their munitions ?

If Putin pokes the NATO bear and we DO respond, then he can use that to justify his escalation to the Russian people. If we don't respond then he can just say "see ? NATO's article 5 isn't worth the paper it written on". Either way Putin remains in power

My gut feeling is that these two wars are on a collision course

Trump will nuke Iran before that one gets totally out of control.

Not sure even Trump is that stupid. Imagine going into the mid terms being the only president to have dropped a nuclear bomb since WW2 ? All it would do is create a global wave of sympathy for Iran and make the strait of Hormuz a radio-active no-go zone like Chernobyl

At least I hope Trump is not that stupid

I just saw this on the Times of Israel website, Trump posted a map of the Hormuz claiming it to be new US territory.

"US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that no talks with Iran are under way or scheduled, as he posted a map showing the Strait of Hormuz as a new American territory in a fresh jibe at Tehran.

“There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.

A day earlier, Fox News said Trump had confirmed to the network that the US had a backchannel with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and that officials in Washington were speaking directly with IRGC officials.

On Monday, the president’s senior aide and son-in-law Jared Kushner spoke of “robust” conversations between the US and Iran, while acknowledging that Tehran wasn’t yet ready to make a deal that is satisfactory to Washington.

But on Tuesday, Trump denied the talks. He also wrote that the US blockade of Iran’s ports remained in place, and claimed that the Strait of Hormuz was “open and operating,” even though ship traffic is down dramatically compared to before the war."

Everybody knows he can't make it a US territory, not without invading Iran ! He would need thousands of troops along that coast just to hold it and tens of thousands more to suppress the inevitable insurgence attacks. The whole thing would be a blood bath, worse than Iraq

This is the only leverage Trump has got left. Threats and memes
