I had to stop drinking back in July 2019 because of my liver and did it cold turkey, you can do it my friend, nothing is impossible in life if you are determined to get there.

Honestly without asking or being nosy you are probably better off without him, most alcoholics will go back to drinking. If he was already showing signs of abuse or not handling his alcohol it would only get worse with time. I have seen a lot of people in my time who would get verbally abusive, rude, even physical towards their partner, they would ask for forgiveness and say I will never do that again, I will stop drinking. A month or two later their partner would call or come over with bruises or crying how he was mean and verbally threatening towards her.

I used to drink beer, not proud of how many I would drink in the last years before I quit cold turkey. July 19th 2019 my doctor who was a beautiful blonde blue eye Ukrainian lady asked me if I had a will. I was sitting across the desk from her trying not to look at her cleavage which was out there, and said why do you ask, and she said they will be reading it in the next few months if you do not stop drinking today.

I stopped and I even stopped smoking, I have had maybe a total of 10 beers and a bottle of red wine in the past 2 and a half years, and that is an accumulated amount from having a toast at weddings, birthdays, special occasions.

Smoking is another demon, I quit for a long time and started again. But I have cut it down form 20-25 a day to around 10.

BTW no one in the world who saw me would have guessed I had a few beers, I never changed and not saying this to be a smart ass, I never got loud, talked more, laughed more, cried, yelled, nothing changed. I knew how to handle my drink. Most people who say this do not realize they were drunk, but I never got drunk. Never threw up or anything.
