I have been using my self managed privacy service since before most of you ever logged online and before many of you were born.

You are not required to put YOUR name and YOUR address on your domain registration, just a valid name and address.
That is all privacy is is someone else's name and address. WHY use someone else's? Are you not proud to be a domain registrant?

I use my corporate information, phone number and email etc. I then filter and manage my own spam email and phone calls.
The privacy alias I use for my client is me. I manage their spam email and phone calls.

Not sure why any one would want to be private unless doing something illegal.

Hi Loraine... allow me to actually answer your question since nobody else has as such:

Firstly you need to decide upon a "niche" as in focus on one area only to begin with. Choose something that interests you ! so for example if you have read that say Gay sites make a lot of money BUT you are not gay and have no personal interest in anything gay then you WILL FAIL bigtime !!! ..... You need to choose something you have a genuwine interest in ! So let us just say that hypothetically that the "lesbian" niche interests you maybe because you are or maybe becasue you have a lot of knowlage about the subject / niche (NOTE I say knowlage ! if you don't know about what you are trying to sell then you will never fucking sell it).

So first off you need to choose a domain name that is "related" to your chosen "niche" hypothetically lesbian in this case.
A few examples, loosebitches.com (not specific enough), bibitches.com (still not specific enough) lesbianbitches.com (would hit the nail right on the head and is 100% specific to your niche).... please note these are domain names made up off the top of my head for explanation purposes.

Once you have chosen and bought a domain name you will need to find a hosting provider.... you could start off with one that provides limited services for free etc BUT I do NOT recomend that !!! it will harm your domain name in the SERPS and hamper your progress.... you need to spend a little amount of money to get some half decient shared hosting service.

After you have done that you need to find a sponser that has quality content in your niche in this case lesbian, then you need to decide upon what kind of site you wish to create ? webcams, pictures, videos ? (do not choose all aspects just go for one) as you need to focus intensly on one thing / area.

Now you have a domain name, hosting and a sponsor in your niche..... next part is building the actual website ! best advice I can give is take a look at other websites in the same niche and see how they have done it, bear in mind colours are very important ! for example Blue theme = curious mostly bi gay, Pink theme = Teens, Black theme = Femdom or even Gay dom.... for Lesbian I would say Soft pastel shades or even just plain white ?

As mentioned in a previous post Wordpress is a good starting platfrom it has a slight learning curve and if you are into writing posts etc yourself then is yeah a good starting point..... But if you want to have a site that has no interaction and is more traditional then you need to hire a programer / webdesign fucking conartist (as the majority of the fuckers are)....

That is the best starting advice I can give you based upon over 20 years in this God forsaken business.... Good luck hun.

You dont need a domain or hosting.

You need content.
You need dedication.
You need a plan.
You need a mentor.


To add a bit to that.

Content is always the first part of building a website.
If you have been building websites since before 1995, then please comment, if not sssh!

Content is always step one.
Without your content and a domain name you do not need hosting!
Until you have content you should not register a domain name. UNLESS, you have a grand knowledge of your content, better knowledge of how to pick a domain name, your domain name is available and you have $10 to spend on a domain name. Then you can by 23 domains and chose one later. Who cares about domain names these days anyway? Domainers? Says the guy that registered NUDE.com over 25 years ago!

People remember your content. People find your site through the content. Content is job one!

Dedication is next.. Is Loraine even actively reading these posts? Loraine already stated she gave up. So why is anyone replying here? I am cause some of you are typing in and not reading.. I see little to zero dedication.

Plan... Obviously, there is no plan. There can not be a plan with out dedication.

Mentor... After reading many of the posts in this thread, most of which are just wrong, I can see why people like Loraine give up. People wanting to share, but not sharing the important information in the order it needs to be shared.

Content is stage one, period, without content you have nothing.

If your interests is making money, then making a site in niche that is easy to make money in is the greatest of all plans, once you have content, dedication, a plan and a mentor.
The drive to make money is all you need to have to become successful in ANY niche.

I have built so many successful sites that I could give a shit less about my emotional attachment to the content. Too many people fail because of POOR advice. In my experience lack of dedication is the primary cause of failure, followed closely by poor advice.

Failure is failure. there is no bigtime in failure. Like being pregnant bigtime! seriously you either are or are not.. no bigtime!

I suggest we close this thread until Loraine shows back up.

For you others, read all the thread before typing in more BS! Especially if you plan to say that the main question was not answered as it certainly has been answered.

Just saying thank you to all who guided me and helped me start out last year. After 1 year of making many errors and pulling out my hair, I have gt to 18 blogs and making just a little more than i used to make at my former job. Thank you for the help especially those of you who spent so much time with my silly questions on email and did not make me look dumb posting those questions here in public.
