I'd be worried if I was sitting in Taiwan right about now. Bombing them doesn't work so pretty much the only way out for Trump now is to go cap-in-hand to China and get them to use their leverage with Iran to open the straits. But what will China want in return ??? My guess is they will want some kind of concession over Taiwan

Breaking news:
"President Donald Trump said Monday he is calling off a plan to attack Iran on Tuesday after the heads of three regional powers in the Middle East asked him to “hold off.”
Trump, in a Truth Social post, said he has informed U.S. military leaders “that we will NOT be doing the scheduled attack of Iran tomorrow” in light of the requests from Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The president claimed in the post that those leaders had asked for the planned attack to be postponed “in that serious negotiations are now taking place, and that, in their opinion, as Great Leaders and Allies, a Deal will be made, which will be very acceptable to the United States of America, as well as all Countries in the Middle East, and beyond.”
“This Deal will include, importantly, NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!” Trump wrote."

That's the 8th time Trump has threatened to escalate the war and then backed down again. Nobody is taking him seriously anymore. Everybody knows that more bombs are not going to settle this thing. Everybody except Trump that is

Is the Iran war going to re-ignite this weekend?
Why would any father especially Trump skip his son's wedding unless it was some very big deal about to go down?
" President Donald Trump officially revealed on Friday, May 22, that he will not be attending his son Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding to Bettina Anderson this weekend due to "circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America."
"While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so," the president wrote on Truth Social just after 1 p.m. ET on Friday. "I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time."
"Congratulations to Don and Bettina! President DONALD J. TRUMP," he added."

I think we may just have to get used to $100 - $150 a barrel for the foreseeable future because I don't think Trump has any cards left to play. All he can do is revert to bombing them and we've already seen that simply doesn't work. Forget about the nuclear material (nobody gives a shit about that anymore), its about opening the strait of Hormuz and there's nothing Trump can offer that will make Iran give up their control of the strait.
Trump isn't blocking the strait, he's blocking the Iranian ports so Iran can't get their oil out which sounds like a shrewd move. However, several countries including China, India, UAE and possibly Thailand have started paying the Iranian's a toll to pass through the straits and, because they haven't come from an Iranian port, the Americans are letting them through. So what Iran is loosing on oil exports, they are making up in tolls. And worse still, the more countries that agree to pay the toll, the more it "normalizes" Iran's control

Ive noticed Trumps messaging on the war has changed recently. A few weeks ago it was "open the straits you crazy bastards or I'll blow you all to hell". More recently it's been "Iran can never have a nuclear bomb" over and over
My guess is there's a reason for that. Iran wanted a nuclear bomb as a deterrent to prevent other countries (like Israel/USA) from attacking them. Well now they have realized that they have a much more powerful deterrent with the straits of Hormuz. After all, who needs a nuclear bomb when you can bring the entire world economy to a standstill with just a few mines and some small speed boats ??
If Iran gives up their nuclear ambitions, then Trump can claim victory which is why, I think, his messaging has changed. However that still leaves Iran in control of the straits. Anytime Trump doesn't do what they want (like lifting the sanctions or unfreezing their assets), then they can simply close the straits. Plus they can make billions by charging tolls for every ship that goes through
Whichever way you look at it, Iran comes out of this with a lot more leverage than they had before the war

I agree with you boss and have a question what exactly has trump and Netanyahu who really pushed Trump to this war achieved. Well I could answer my own question, pushed the price of oil way higher, limited or stopped the flow of trade and fertilizers which could lead to hunger and starvation in some African countries next year for lack of crops being planted. wasted billions of dollars, depleted ammunition and weapons that the US may need in a future war......tell me if you will what did Mr T achieve.

Was bombing them on Monday helpful in making a deal that on Saturday seemed close?

Your right, what has Trump achieved ? I have to wonder whether this whole thing started off (at least) as a distraction from the Epstein files. Remember Trump thought this would all be over in 4 weeks, giving him a big boost in the polls and getting Epstein off the front pages. Just like VenezuelaTheButcher wrote: ↑May 26th, 2026, 11:46 amtacnet wrote: ↑May 25th, 2026, 10:51 pmIve noticed Trumps messaging on the war has changed recently. It sure as hell wasn't about a nuclear bomb. Don't forget, America's own intelligence agencies stated that Iran was NOT developing a nuclear bomb. Tulsi Gabbard told congress that last summer, just before Trump bombed them the first time.
