Whichever way you look at it, this is a strategic and total failure for the US. None of Trumps objectives have been achieved. The regime is still in power and have slaughtered all those civilians that Trump told to rise up. They still have their nuclear material and insist they have the right to enrich more. Their ballistic missiles are still in place and now, worst of all, they have control over the straits of Hormuz (something they didn't have before the war)

Iran can make billions by charging a toll to pass through the straits and the more ships that pay it, the more it legitimizes Iran's control. This is supposed to be international waters and nothing to do with Iran. Its like the UK controlling who can pass through the English channel.

Thanks to Trump, Iran now has total control over the global oil price and anytime a sanction is put on them, or a UN vote goes against them or whatever, they can jack up the price of oil

Exactly. It should be clear by now that Iran is NOT going to back down to threats. Trump has already threatened to wipe them all out, blow up their energy infrastructure, destroy all their bridges, destroy all their desalination plants and send them back to the stone age....but Iran hasn't shifted an inch. The regime simply doesn't care how much pain the Iranian people have to suffer. They know they can close the strait and the whole world will grind to a halt. They've only got to throw a few drones at an oil tanker or two to keep it closed and they can launch drones from literally anywhere in the country
