If there are bots what do you call humans paid to spam forms, "human bots?"

It is safe to say bots ruined it for Alexa and the numbers were way off from reality, which is probably one of the main factors why Alexa decided to close up.

Not sure if it is bots or humans but they seem to get past quite often on my sites.

Thats true. Bots have also killed off the whole idea of buying / trading traffic.

There's no way I would trust anybody's traffic these days.

Even when a trade is not intentionally cheating these bots slip in to his traffic and the receiver gets to think he is cheating

Thats an interesting point.

We've got sites that we have been trading traffic with for the last 10 - 15 years or so with no problems but recently Ive become very suspicious of their traffic.

Our link seems to be buried away on their links page somewhere and yet its still getting hundreds of clicks and i just dont buy it. Even though these are sites we have known for decades and I wouldn't have thought that they would be actively using bots to push traffic.

Now you've pointed that out, it could well be that they are getting bot traffic and its just filtering through to our site

Now that you mentioned it, it is quite possible some of my trades are not trying to send bots ,they might not even be aware of it. r6d10k

That is not meant to sell but to inflate stats counters.

Exactly and some people pay by the click.

The counter measure to NOT get caught is to send your bot to a lot of sites, not just your own.
This tricks some anti bot software into thinking you are real.

This is how they get past the v3 Google recaptcha. They learn to act / counter act the captcha and trick it.

Plus some just want to break shit, cause that is how you get good jobs.
