yes, I understand google cares.
Easy test.
check your rankings.
pay for the registration for 2 more years. Not like you wont have to pay next year and probably more anyway, so no loss of money involved in this, might even save you some.
now watch your rankings.
if they improve go add 2 more years.
now watch again
if the improve then yes it helps.
I keep my active sites renewed for several years and then add a renewal every year. but I can afford $45 start cost and then a $9 cost per year for over 300 domains. Many of you $9 might break you.
Better be safe than sorry over $9 your going to spend sooner or later. if sooner helps try it.

I doubt Google is going to take ANY notice of how long your domain is registered for.gotonudecom wrote: ↑May 19th, 2022, 12:02 pmyes, I understand google cares.

Its totally meaningless for them. Some people auto-renew every year, others do it for longer. It has no relevance to whether they should show a user your site or not

I think that was a rumour put out by a domain registrar long time ago, not joking.

my short answer is, make great content and don't worry
1:08
nearly as much about how many years your domain is
1:11
registered for, just because someone is sending you an email that
1:14
says, Google does or even may use this in ranking, does not
Matt Cutts stating years ago "Nearly as much" means it is a ranking factor.
"Nearly as much" means to me that you should consider it and why not keep your domain registered at least a year out, so that it is never less than one year from renewal.
Especially, as I stated earlier, the price of registration is NOT going down, and it can NOT hurt to practice this.
if it does nothing, nothing lost.

1. make sure you check the email you use to register domains and put your domains on auto-renew. I lost one last year through my own dumb fault, I did not check that old email and forgot to renew my domain.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.
