I buy the cheapest laptop on sale that meets my requirements and replace them every 2 years or so, I used to play a lot of online games and they always seem to over heat and the things get to break down just after the warranty ends.

walmart online is a good place to buy, or it was 2016 anyways. They had the best prize I found for dell alienware. Better prize than the manufacturer for same laptop. There were slight differences but comparable and the walmart configuration was damn near what I would have chosen myself at dell. I saved a bundle and UPS dropped it on my doorstep within a few days :)

Their 3 year extended warranty is reasonable as well and worth considering if you buy an expensive system. Might want to skip it on a cheaper system.

I blew well over 2k on my alien. 17", 4k display, lots of bells and whistles. I've never ever paid that much for a puter before. I call it the beast and I absolutely love it! At the time I was broadcasting, editing vids, etc and I wanted something that could handle HD broadcasts and 4k video editing with ease. Of course shortly after buying it I stopped doing broadcasts and I haven't done much major editing since. But man do I love the beast. Loads in seconds and ready to go. lol

HeidiHoe what is so special about that brand, my son who is into games keeps telling me he wants one, he ended up building his own tower last year. He spent close to $1200 on the bits and pieces btw.

What's the difference between a Ford and a Cadillac?

Unbridled power, quality parts, durability. It's a gaming computer built to take the abuse that you throw at it. media editing, broadcasting, gaming are all resource hungry activities. If your system isn't built to handle it, it just might crap out on you, bog down.

btw, I drive a cheap ass Ford... priorities... lol.

Check and see if walmart online still sells them and what's in it. Compare prize on the dell or alienware site for same setup and you should be in for a pleasant surprise. At least I was when I did that. Best deal that I found at the time and I scoured the web before I parted with money :)

I nearly pulled the trigger on July 4th weekend and bought one, then I realized I best stick to the old box of tricks it's still good and I don't play games as much as before. But yes if I wanted a great gaming pc I would go for one in a heart beat.
