Unbelievable how well the operation was executed without the loss of life or equipment according to president Trump. Maduro and his wife are going to get fucked to be crass, they will either spend the rest of their lives in prison or get the death penalty. The big oil companies got a mega new years gift that is for sure. If you heard what the president said, he called the Monroe doctrine. I am sure other countries in the region will take note.

It is bigger than E, it is flexing our muscle in the Americas and taking over the oil, Venezuela is the biggest oil deposits in the world.

There's no question that Maduro was an illegitimate president. He lost the last election to Maria Machado (winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize) but refused to leave office. So if anybody should now be president, its her but Trump doesn't want her and so now you have a government in Venezuela that DOESN'T reflect the will of the Venezuelan people
Trump said they are going to "run Venezuela until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transfer of power". He left out one word from that sentence.......DEMOCRATIC ! The Venezuelan people voted for Machado and Trump has no right to overturn that vote. Plus where does this stop ??? Can, for example, Netenyahu go and kidnap the Ayatollah of Iran and take that country ???? In a world where "might is right" then any sitting president can be taken by a stronger country.
This is a slippery slope and is exactly what happened in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Each time the US took out the main leader and stepped in to administer the country themselves. And look what happened ??? For decades, the US was like a dinosaur stuck in a tar pit and their actions gave rise to groups like Isis.
And one final point. Trump ran on an "America First" policy. He specifically said he would sort out America's problems first instead of "wasting time fixing other countries". This is exactly the opposite of what he promised to do and his MAGA base is NOT happy about it.

Sure Maduro is not a cool leader put that a side explain to me how a NY indictment can be served in Venezuela, don't we need a treaty or agreement over there to enforce it. Or can we just indict anyone in any country then go kidnap them bring them over to face charges?

Also, Trump said they arrested Maduro because he is a narco terrorist but just a few weeks ago, Trump pardoned former Honduran President Juan Hernandez who was convicted of smuggling over 400 tonnes of cocaine into the United States last year and received a 45 year jail sentence
The only difference is that a few weeks ago, the Epstein files weren't about to be released !!

I have never heard a US president openly say we want your natural resources and you will either do as we say or else. The world is becoming very scary.

Another good point. This is a green light for countries like Russia, China, Israel to simply go out and annex any weaker neighbors without any consequences.
Also, none of this is going to benefit the American people. There is not going to suddenly be cheaper prices at the gas pump as a result of this. Nor are the Venezuelan people likely to benefit from the extraction of their oil reserves. Trump made it clear today when he said "we are taking back OUR oil from Venezuela" . In fact the ONLY people who will benefit from this are the big oil companies that made huge donations to Trump's election campaign.

Let me say one thing, will the judge even ask if it was legal to use a US arrest warrant in Venezuela, if they argue it is not legal then he has to throw out the case. I know when I had to serve a guy his papers to come to court my agent had to make sure he was handed them so it was valid.
