i remember, many years ago, i'd create a php script, upload it to the server using ftp client - and it was live. php, sql, ftp was all that was necessary to build things.

fast forward to now: dozens of frameworks, hundreds of libraries, service workers, multi-tenancies etc. etc.

yet we still do the same things as back then - CRUD llf4532

Have you tried ChatGPT it does miracles for a novice like me

it's fine. frontend is all javascript one way or another anyway, backend use what you like. i like what DHH is doing to reduce complexity in web development.

yeah fair, using chatgpt like a normal chatbot does feel kinda old now

codex cli is different tho. it’s closer to a coding workflow: repo context, file edits, patches, tests, refactors, actual diffs to review

the point isn’t just better prompts anymore, it’s getting to working code faster while still keeping control

I am not a coder inclined woman but what i see is so much excess in code where load times hurt

codex is good, i've been using it more and more lately. grok build as well. claude code is still king though... and yes, at the end of the day what's important is that the dev that uses these tools knows what they are doing. for projects of any considerable complexity anyway...

This is one reason why experienced coders are still needed: to keep things under control and avoid unnecessary bloat that hurts load times. r6d10k

PHP and mysql databases are the best , people who use text based user name/passwords are just asking for trouble.

Only had bad experience with web developers, they can not do what they said they will do in time.
