They hurt seo, your content pages go one step deeper.
That's very true. Do NOT do it as a separate landing page or you will ruin your google traffic.

The trick is to put your cookie policy AND your warning in a hidden DIV at the bottom of the page and use Javascript to display it over your content. That way it doesn't affect what google sees.

Also, use "Implied Consent". In other words, as soon as you display the message, set the cookie that says they have accepted. Don't make them tick a box or click a button etc. That way, if they do anything other than close the browser they have accepted your terms. Also it means you are not constantly hitting them with a popup until they explicitly accept your terms

You can see this in action at https://www.tacamateurs.com (note if you've previously visited the site then the cookie will already be set and you wont see the warning)

By the way, this wont satisfy Age Verification laws. That is something completely different

Will the time come when Google will understand why adult sites use a warning page and factor ir into their ranking algorithms ?

For seo purposes it is a suicide.

What benefits does it give you, explain it to me, until then I am not going to add one.

Well if you are a pay site, then Mastercard, Visa and Paypal insist you have a warning page.

If your outside the UK and not bothering with Age Verification then just combine the warning with your cookie notice and use implied consent (see earlier post)

My question is, now we have a Safe For Work version specifically for UK users (https://www.tacamateurs.com/sfw.shtml) , then do we still need the warning notice on it ? Im inclined to just take it off and see if anybody shouts at me

How many people pay attention to them, I'll bet most people click enter any way.

Will a text warning page with no nude content mean anything or should I not spend the time make one and use it for my blog. Yes there is sexual content on my blog.
Thank you for reading and if you reply.
I'm late to this one, the general opinion posted which I agree with is a warning page os not going to save you from age verification laws.

No point to use extra pages unless it protects you legally.

Not a defense against verifying the age of users in jurisdictions that require it

What we used to do a few years back with iframes. Same idea.
