Here's why this war in Ukraine could impact the world far more than the war in Iran. It's all to do with the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

In 1963, President Kennedy predicted that the world likely have between 15 and 20 nuclear armed countries by 1975. Yet her we are, more than 80 years after Hiroshima, and we only have 9. One of the main reasons for this was that through NATO, the American nuclear umbrella spared other countries from needing to create their own nuclear bombs

However, now that Trump has pulled back from NATO and basically sided with Putin, trust in America has weakened dramatically across the globe. Recently we have seen Germany, Poland, South Korea, Japan and even Saudi Arabia all scrambling to develop their own nuclear arsenals. More developed countries are certain to follow.

We are rapidly heading towards a world with dozens of nuclear armed countries and that's not good for any of us
