Hungary seems to be holding up the vote for a major EU loan package to Ukraine
"The German and Belgian foreign ministers criticised Hungary on Wednesday for blocking a major European Union loan to Ukraine as well as the latest round of EU sanctions against Russia."

Given one of the most effective weapons Russia had was Iranian drones, Putin is running out of options.
Ukraine has taken back over half the territory Russia sacrificed 9 out of 10 soldiers to get in 2025.

You would think so but actually the war in Iran could be a huge boost for Putin as it will likely drive up oil and gas prices. One thing about the Russian economy is it's never diversified. Before the war in Ukraine, nearly HALF of the federal budget was coming from oil and gas revenues but with the drop in oil prices last year along with western sanctions, that has dropped to around 23% (the lowest its been in over 20 years). A sustained war in Iran could see those numbers jump back up againHighOctaneHeart wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2026, 6:25 pmGiven one of the most effective weapons Russia had was Iranian drones, Putin is running out of options.
Europe needs to step up and start seizing these ghost fleet ships instead of just sitting there watching them sail through the channel every day

I wonder if Trump has taken this into consideration because oil is up way up since last Friday night.

Valid concerns as insurance companies have stopped insuring anything going through the Straight of Hormuz.
What happens if EU countries simply seize Russian oil from the shadow fleet destined for China and India? And use it? We've already seen some seizures, but I haven't heard any mention of what's being done with the oil itself.
And now, any suspected ship from Iran, which includes the shadow fleet, is Hegseth's target practice.
Russian oil is like golden knuckles. There's a lot of cash to be had, but you've got to make a lot of sacrifices to get it.
While Iran has to stop sending drones to Russia because they're needed for hitting Israeli targets and American targets in Arab nations, word has it we still haven't hit Iranian drone factories... yet.

That's exactly what they should be doing but sky news did a piece on this the other day and, apparently we see up to half a dozen ghost fleet ships sailing through the channel EVERY DAY !!! and all we do is call them up and leave a voicemail asking them if they would please email their insurance documents to the coast guard (which of course they don't). That's it.....we are not stopping them or anything !!! We are just sitting there watching them sail through and leaving them a "strongly worded" voicemail. It's ridiculous.HighOctaneHeart wrote: ↑March 4th, 2026, 5:37 pmWhat happens if EU countries simply seize Russian oil from the shadow fleet destined for China and India? And use it?
