Most of the time, but you can still rank others well sometimes. For example, someone in the industry has a .xxx that makes quite a lot of money. The referral has paid my bills for a while now.

.com is still the 1st assumption people make when typing in a url. Keep it at or below 15 characters, no hyphens and have it include some keywords if possible.
