Pretty much EVERY point you made there is WRONG ! Im not going to waste my time picking apart everything you said, so Im just going to point out what others say

Firstly that article is NOT 5 years old, its dated April 26, 2023. https://victoriousseo.com/blog/seo-subd ... directory/. It clearly states :-

"We recommend our customers structure their sites with subdirectories for the best SEO results."

"Using subdirectories concentrates your keywords and link equity onto a single domain. When you keep these ranking factors focused on your root domain, you’re accumulating signals that Google will interpret as more helpful to searchers (domain authority) and translate into better search rankings. Conversely, spreading keywords and link equity across multiple domains will dilute your authority and require you to pour more effort and resources to get subdomains to rank competitively."

"Unless you have a compelling business reason to create subdomains for your content, your SEO strategy will be better served with subdirectories. Having one root domain gathers your link authority in one place, concentrates cumulative keyword gains, communicates a clear structure to Google, and keeps your overhead low. Subdirectories are easier for you, easier for Google, and easier for your visitors. Win. Win. Win."

Now Im sure you are going to say that article is WRONG and you know better. But simply google around for a bit and you will find plenty more articles saying the exact same thing eg https://webris.org/subdomains-vs-subfol ... Subfolders which states :-

"Generally speaking, you will want to use a subfolder over a subdomain to preserve SEO equity."

"In terms of ranking power though, subfolders usually rank better than a subdomain."

This isnt to say that you should NEVER use subdomains. There are many valid reason where subdomains work (multilingual site for example). And in your case, you dont really have a choice. Because you are sub hosting other webmasters on your domain, you HAVE to use subdomains. You wouldn't want a 3rd party to be able to post content directly to nude.com

But from a purely SEO perspective, subfolders are going to work better than subdomains.

We have tested this ourselves over the years on https://www.tacamateurs.com and our strategy of using subfolders over subdomains means that we now get well over 30,000 hits a day just from google alone

Firstly, this is why I have such an issue with Tacnet.

I did NOT say the article is 5 years old.
I typed in
Love how this entire article is based on a video that is what 5 plus years old???

If Tacnet can not get this correct, what else is
Tacnet getting wrong?

This is called confirmation bias.
Which is the problem with Google.
Google is based on confirmation bias.

This is why democracy does not work..

Democracy is two pedophiles and a teen mom voting on how young the age of consent is.

If you actually read what I said and could comprehend, you would know that I did not say it is wrong.

In fact, I said it was a great article, based on a 5 year old video.

Every web site own should already be using subfolders to strengthen their SEO.

Let us also consider that all these articles are focusing on sites that have a few keywords and NOT 100 niche options.
Let us also consider that each subdomain is a new site, who do you know besides me that has the time and money to build hundreds of sites and test the results?

I know how well my subdomains are doing. Many of my subdomains have more traffic than NUDE.com the primary domain.

The real question for this thread should not have been
will subdomains help the main domain with seo & ranking?
The question should have been

Will subdomains help the my domain with seo & ranking resulting in more traffic and revenue?
Because it will increase the overall traffic and revenue.
If done correctly.

AS the good article Tacnet posted stated.

Resources Are Everything
In summary, Google will index a subdomain or subdirectory the same way, but whether or not the average business can achieve SEO success by using subdomains depends on what content goes where, how it implements the structure, and the available budget for SEO strategy and maintenance.

Final Word on Subdomains vs. Subdirectories
Unless you have a compelling business reason to create subdomains for your content, your SEO strategy will be better served with subdirectories. Having one root domain gathers your link authority in one place, concentrates cumulative keyword gains, communicates a clear structure to Google, and keeps your overhead low. Subdirectories are easier for you, easier for Google, and easier for your visitors. Win. Win. Win.

The keyword in all if this is EASY. Everyone is doing the EASY. thus few people have done the difficult, thus few people have tested the difficult.
Again I said subfolders are for lazy people, only meaning people who are not motivated to go to the next level of subfolders, which is subdomains.

So many of you focus on page one rankings. That is so much a waste of time and a waste of focus.

Impressions for your pages are the most important variable NOT rank. Certainly NOT your main domain name/home page. Any and every page.

CTR, Click through rate, on the pages with impressions is number two.
The higher your CTR the higher and quicker your impressions grow for that particular page. The higher each page is with impressions and CTR the more pages Google indexes. The more pages indexed the higher your impressions. See the cycle, yet?

The more queries you have impressions for the more opportunities you have for clicks. The more subfolders you have the more impressions, the more subdomains you have blah blah blah. Check out Google Search Console.

The more folders you have does easily make it better for your single site. Do that first. Cause it is what I typed in before and do type in often.
However, subdomains, which might still be considered separate sites by google, do give you new chances to build another site that receives an SEO bonus from the main site and start fresh with a new SEO strategy. Like niched content.

https://xxx.nude.com/
Has a lot more visitors page views than NUDE.com, BUT only because it started with a boost with traffic and backlinks from NUDE.com.

https://public.nude.com/
Has a lot more visitors page views than NUDE.com, BUT only because it started with a boost with traffic and backlinks from NUDE.com.

https://cam.nude.com/
Is not doing very well because it is a white label that I have zero control over. The only traffic it receives is from traffic I force to it.
Conversions are better when you send directly to the parent site for cams, in my experience.

According to the guy leasing http://celeb.nude.com/
It is doing better than even the sites that are years old. When his other sites took a hit from Google this site did not. Plus, it receives traffic, like the other subdomains, from the NUDE.com Network.
celeb.nude.com has more traffic than NUDE.com. Obviously, it should. check out the site.

Just because Tacnet and others are not aware enough or capable enough to find and comprehend what I am doing,
DOES NOT mean it does not work. Remember Tacnet does not reply to what I actually typed in. Whether purposefully or not it shows that even he is not perfect and his statements should be reviewed carefully. Just like mine. Sure most of you know I type in some crappy shit occasionally. But NOT about SEO. Just about TACNET and others being themselves....

The goal is traffic to be monetized.

Stage one build your site on the main domain, which should already include subfolders in the strategy. DUH!
Advanced stage when you have hit a roadblock on normal site SEO, or have the time and resources, start using subdomains.
ONE at a time build niched sites either using a proven SEO strategy or a new one, if you do not have a proven strategy. Do not attempt to compete with the main domain on SEO. The strategy is for them to complement each other.

I do want people posting directly to NUDE.com. When you lease a subdomain, I provide a folder with the same name for you to blog with. No one is using this option yet.

My suggested use of this is to create blog posts linking to your subfolders on your subdomain...

LOL! See what I am doing with this?

Yes this is a great strategy, as I said in my first response where I commend Tacnet for publishing a great response with a great link to a good blog post.

Hopefully you readers understand Tac and I just like to FUCK with each other. Hopefully everyone comprehends are playfully insulting banter.
Anything I say about him or you, I probably already said into the mirror.

Subfolder Should be completed FIRST. Period.

However, that was NOT the question of this thread that TACNET hijacked by sharing his anti-subdomain rhetoric.

will subdomains help the main domain with seo & ranking

The answer is simply YES!
And the evidence provided by Tacnet states exactly that.. YES!

Subdomains will help the main domain with seo & ranking!!!!

I have spoken.

Why is it you can not get a SSL wild card setup where any subdomain with http: automatically redirects to the root of that domain if where the root is https.

I have to say. That unless you have tested subdomains the way I have, PLEASE stop telling people that directories and folders are the way to go and that subdomains are not.

Who cares that it gets treated as another domain or website.

Yes directories work. Yes you should do them before you do subdomains.

Advanced strategy is subdomains. They are like building a PBN, but better.

this threads question is.
will subdomains help the main domain with seo & ranking?

It was not asking if you think directories are better...

Yes subdomains will help the main domain with SEO & Ranking.

Read my replies above.

@TacNet
You should really try it before you keep knocking it.
You already have an outstanding directory built. Probably have all the SEO you can get from it.
Time to expand to subdomains.

Which do you think will get more clicks?

www.tacamateurs.com/sites/curvy-claire/

https://curvy-claire.tacamateurs.com

Then ask yourself, which URL would Curvy-Claire rather share?

Curvy-Claire.NUDE.com

I think I know the answer.....

Huh? You can get wildcard ssl for free with let's encrypt by requesting *.domain.com. You control your redirects by adding directives to your .htaccess files. What happens to http depends on what your directive calls for.

You can use .htaccess in folders other than your root to control content within that folder on down only. The order you list your directives in the file matters. There's a load of info on the web on .htaccess.
The Fourth Turning Is Here

will subdomains help the main domain with seo & ranking
