Not exactly good news for us who got the Pfizer vaccine if it is only 47% effective in just 6 months after the 2nd dose.
"By Manas Mishra
(Reuters) - The effectiveness of the Pfizer Inc/BioNTech SE vaccine in preventing infection by the coronavirus dropped to 47% from 88% six months after the second dose, according to data published on Monday that U.S. health agencies considered when deciding on the need for booster shots.
The data, which was published in the Lancet published medical journal, had been previously released in August ahead of peer review.
The analysis showed that the vaccine's effectiveness in preventing hospitalization and death remained high at 90% for at least six months, even against the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus.
The data suggests that the drop is due to waning efficacy, rather than more contagious variants, researchers said."

I am not crazy over getting 2 shots a year, it seems too much too often. Maybe they need to develop a stronger vaccine.

The variants just will not stop here is another one
"A new coronavirus variant, called AY.4.2, is being closely monitored by scientists around the world.
AY.4.2 is a descendant of the Delta variant. It has been found "on occasion" in the US, the CDC said.
It's not clear yet whether AY.4.2 is actually more transmissible than Delta, or if it has just had some good luck in the UK.

They've now got an oral vaccine (a pill) which would work out a hell of a lot cheaper than the Pfizer / Moderna vaccines as no need to keep it at minus 70 https://www.biopharminternational.com/v ... ath-by-50-

It can never end if every body does not get vaccinated and new strains of the virus come about, we will have it the same way as we do with the flu.
