There's a lot of down sides to getting a transplant. Suppressing immune system, drug side effects, constant and ongoing monitoring, etc. All that for a less than 50% 5 year survival rate. It's not how I want to live out my remaining days.
Right now I'm considering lung volume reduction via valve implants or surgery. It should yield a slight improvement and that's good enough for now. In the meantime I'm getting my affairs in order, rearranging my priorities and enjoying life.
