It basically depends on the deal made when buying, but in general:
- The product made by an employee while working belongs to those he works for, ie work product (the guy who coded Windows 10 cant suddenly claim he owns it after leaving Microsoft)
- A freelancer working for pay under an agreement to produce something for you also produces work product, thus it belongs to the entity paying
- Buying an existing product, eg a license to use something that already exists can belong to whoever on whatever conditions said license dictate

You think some designer will sue you over a $50 design, if the seller already paid for it and you buy his site fuck what the designer has to say.donnie wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2021, 9:06 amWho owns the design after you pay for it, my designer claims he owns the copyright and I can not sell the site without his approval for the logo and images he did for me.This mess started when the buyer contacted him to redo the top logo with a small change. My dumb big idea I told her to not spend money on a new logo to contact the guy I had do it ask him to redesign the thing.

- Title: Resident Genius
I know if you engage a photographer (or a videographer I suppose) the copyright belongs to him/her unless you have a legal contract stating otherwise. That's all I know.
