Today Tuesday July 7th is Blackoutday2020. What are your thoughts on this, I think it is the dumbest idea for achieving racial harmony, peace and equality. Would a "Whiteoutday" be acceptable and productive for improving racial problems?
You are not helping black owned business beyond today, what you are doing is making matters worse. I bet an over whelming majority non-black owned business are not racist or discriminating against black people. Business by definition wants to make money, they don't care about politics, race, religion or anything but the bottom line. Yes there might be the odd business owner who feels otherwise but it's very few.So how does avoiding them for today make them feel about their black customers?
You are just making the people feel that they are not the same, let's get over the skin color issue by working together at the local level, be neighbourly, support each other and their business, not turn this into what I see coming a race war. Highlight and build on common goals not divide by race.
You are also giving ammunition to racists to recruit and spread their hate.
These kind of events only make the ones who were not inclined to be racist have second thoughts. I can go on but I hope this does not lead to more hate and racism. Something tells me it will backfire.
Blackoutday2020 what a stupid idea

Let me add, if any business is going to make or break because of the increase or decrease in sales they are already about to fail. There are no winners in this idea, my 2 cents.

Make love not war. Life is too short to not enjoy every moment, make an effort to build bridges with others is my attitude.
