Disclaimer for those who do not know me, I am an atheist. But also a type 2 diabetic, and some religions have fasting rituals, which makes no sense if you are a diabetic like me for instance. Diabetic people eat regularly in small portions to control their blood sugar, the trick is not to "spike " the blood sugar by eating too much at once, so fasting and shit doesn't work for people like me.
