My MacBook took a dump on me
It won't start up this morning, it flashes a folder icon with a question mark, I googled it an they suggest holding down the command and r keys then powering it up, to hold the keys until the next step comes up on the screen but of course the silly folder with question mark comes on the screen. Thing is 8 months out of warranty just my luck.
Luckily I kept the old laptop and using it now, I hope you have a better Saturday than me.
Peace

I am a happy camper today, my son came home last night with a new MacBook Pro, said dad have my MacBook Air. I said son why did you go spend all that money your laptop is only 2 years old, he said I wanted the PRO. This shit is way slimmer and faster than my old MacBook.

Your son really does care about you, he gave you your first MAC and now he upgraded it for you. sounds to me like his reason for doing so was all just a cover up for getting you a new computer.TheButcher wrote: ↑September 26th, 2018, 10:33 amI am a happy camper today, my son came home last night with a new MacBook Pro, said dad have my MacBook Air. Yes sir on both counts, I put him through university, he's got a good job now, and I guess he does love me. I always mess with him tell him you never come s[end time at home you must not love me and your mom any more. But work and what they call a girlfriend now comes first and I am happy for him.
Yes he's a gadget nut, he just got rid of his lat iphone X or whatever it's called bought the latest 10 XS. But hey when I was his age I was just like him.

Just sayin'. Gotta press command + R until MacOS Recovery comes up. If it doesn't, try again. Then when it does, select your image then restart.
If that doesn't work, open disk utility from Utilities, select your startup disk, select first aid, click repair disk. If this finishes, close the utility, select your startup disk from Recovery, then restart.
If these steps don't work, archive/install.

Fancy cases.. That's about it.
My work bought two brand new $2500+ iMac Pros for my office, and the only thing we use them for is to image iPods... What a waste.. No wonder Henri Bendel and Pink stores are closing... (They are a lot worse than that at money management, but I'm not allowed to say more lol)
