Talk to me Cloud hosting

[ispdn]

I'm currently running 2 dedicated servers and want to upgrade both, my host wants to move me to a cloud server setup. What is your opinion on cloud is it really better than your own dedicated server?

[jag]

I call it a VPS not a real dedicated server, tell me I am wrong.

[TheButcher]

I'm old school and always had a physical server, I know some people tell me a "Cloud" is the way to go but this old dog is not convinced.Just as I like to close my frint door leave the house I like full control on my server no one else accessing it or using it.

[Cars-n-Chicks]

Who do banks trust their hosting to?

[Russ]

Cloud cheaper compared to a dedicated blade server.

[antisocial]

Who actually uses cloud hosting here and has any feedback good or bad.

[viking]

No one can explain what a cloud is to me they all make wishy washy explanations.

[porntraveller]

Is it cheaper than getting a physical server?

[workman]

Is it cheaper than getting a physical server?

Nope I looked into it last time I changed hosts.

[fappmaster]

Not used cloud I'm happy with my dedicated server where I get root so I know it's mine.

What I found out about cloud hosting is you are a user on a set of computers and not the only one on any machine
