The FIFA president must have friends and backers in high up places if he's still at his job.

I notice Trump is being very quiet about all this, given that it was undoubtedly his idea and his family financing the whole thing

Joshua Kushner’s Thrive Capital was said to be the major player in that 20% stake of the proposed FIFA idea, well that didn't seem to go down well and Joshua Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger went on to make a deal to buy the LA Lakers for $12.5 billion from Mark Walter.
If the names sound familiar, Charles Kushner the US ambassador to France and Monaco has a son called Jared who is married to president Trump's daughter Ivanka and he also has a son Joshua.

UEFA can survive without FIFA but FIFA can't survive without UEFA
UEFA is a money making machine with the Euro's, Champions league etc but imagine FIFA trying to hold another world cup WITHOUT Europe being involved ?
Obviously UEFA isn't letting go until he steps down so I think, one way or another, he's got to go
