Paris France investigation into Apple's Siri
Worth following to see what comes out of this investigation
https://www.politico.eu/article/paris-p ... tant-siri/
"PARIS — The Paris public prosecutor has opened an investigation into Apple regarding the collection of recordings by its voice assistant Siri, the prosecutor’s office told POLITICO.
The investigation, led by the country’s cybercrime agency OFAC, follows a complaint in February by the French NGO Ligue des droits de l'Homme, based on the testimony of a whistleblower and former employee of an Apple subcontractor Thomas Le Bonniec."

Siri has to listen to respond that's how it works. You don't like it turn it off.

This will be interesting as there's been a lot of legal discussion about these smart speaker systems and privacy rights.
What's supposed to happen is that the speaker (or phone in Siri's case) listens out for a keyword like "Alexa" or "Hey Siri" etc. It then records whatever you say next and sends it up to the server. It should NEVER do the 2nd part (recording) unless it's been activated by the keyword first. Not without a court order anyway. But the T&Cs these companies use are designed to protect them. In other words, when you buy an Alexa speaker, you give amazon the right to record you. WHEN they record you and how they use those recordings is the bit that is up for legal debate
