There was a catastrophic failure - restored the site 2 days posts are gone

[TheButcher]

Hi guys

Sorry to say there was a catastrophic failure over night, we went a head installed the backup from early morning, that was corrupted, so we used the backup of October 18th , the site is back up, a lot of posts were lost, a couple of new users were also lost, they will have to re-register I am sorry for all this.

The good news, it is Friday.

Peace

Who said I am no good with scripts and code I fixed it. Even though we got the backups form October 18th working I had no access to the admin [panel on the board, finally a lot of trial and error got in. problem solved. I have to say thanks to my host they spent time on this and all the guys on phpBB who took the time to read and offer support on my thread I had started.

Unbelievable start to the day, have a great weekend.

A couple of words form everything that went down here today. Keep plugins and extensions to the bare minimum if you hardly use them, and do NOT keep those ones that have not been updated to the latest core of the platform they are being used on.

But it was a very stressful and busy few hours until it all came together.
